SUPERLUX S125 Handheld Condenser Microphone

SUPERLUX S125 Handheld Condenser Microphone

Featuring a pressure gradient, 0.5-inch shock mounted condenser capsule, high SPL characteristics, a -10 dB pad, a low-cut switch, and conductive shielding to minimize RF (radio frequency) and handling noise, the new Superlux S125 delivers studio caliber qualities in a robust form factor designed for live performance.

The new Superlux S125 is a half-inch diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone with a triple pop filter. Since the microphone’s multistage pop filter does not use any foam components, it will maintain its high performance characteristics for years.

Similarly, the pressure gradient capsule is shock mounted for low handling noise, and both the microphone’s case and grille are conductive to resist RF interference from cell phones and other sources. With a wide, flat frequency response that extends from 20 Hz – 20 kHz, this versatile microphone is ideal for a wide range of live sound applications—including vocal and instrumental micing.

To accommodate a wide range of sound sources, the Superlux S125 has a switchable -10 dB attenuator and a switchable 150 Hz low cut filter. Both switches are under a rubber cover to protect them from moisture and being accidentally changed.

The -10 dB pad enables the S125 to gracefully handle high SPLs—making it a great choice for micing guitar cabinets.

Further, the 150 Hz low cut filter is an excellent tool for eliminating low frequency rumble caused by wind that can frequently occur during outdoor performances. The S125’s maximum level is 148 dB SPL and the noise floor is only 18 dB SPL A-weighted.

Together, this translates to a 130 dB dynamic range and enables this exceptional microphone to deliver outstanding results on strings, wind instruments, and percussion.

Another noteworthy feature of the new Superlux S125 True Condenser microphone is its gold plated connectors between the microphone’s capsule and electronics that are designed to provide stable performance.

Additionally, the microphone’s sturdy zinc alloy, die-cast casing and steel-strengthened grill/windscreen is designed to withstand the rigors of live performance while helping to ensure low handling noise.

For the live performer in search of a studio-grade microphone capable of capturing all the musical nuances typically found in far more expensive microphones, the Superlux S125 represents tremendous value. The new S125 ships with a microphone clip and a storage pouch.
